A bit of preparation before your collection makes everything faster and can save you money. Here's what to do before our team arrives.
Sort What You're Keeping
Go through your items BEFORE collection day and remove anything you want to keep. Once items are on the van, retrieving them is difficult. If in doubt, set it aside — you can always book a second collection later.
Check Access
Think about how our team will get from the items to the van. Clear pathways through the house. Move cars if the driveway is needed. If you're in a flat, check whether the close or lift can accommodate large items. Let us know about any access issues when booking — stairs, narrow hallways, no nearby parking.
Separate Hazardous Items
Let us know if there are hazardous items in the collection — paint, batteries, chemicals, aerosols, asbestos. Some of these we can take with proper handling; others need specialist disposal. It's better to flag them up front than on the day.
Consolidate Into One Area
If possible, gather everything into one room or area. This speeds up loading time and ensures nothing gets missed. If items are spread across multiple rooms or floors, let us know when booking so we can allow enough time.
Be Specific When Quoting
Send clear photos showing all the items that need to go. Include photos from different angles for larger jobs. Mention anything not visible in photos (items in cupboards, behind furniture, in lofts). The more accurate the information, the more accurate the quote.
On the Day
Someone needs to be present at the start to confirm what's going and what's staying. After that, you can leave us to it if you prefer. We'll notify you when we're finished and leave the space clean.
